Aniya's thoughts

Hi, my name is Aniya and I have one parent. I always thought I am missing out because I don't have a father in my life. My father lives less than 5 miles away and does not even come over and say hi or just to check on me and see how I am doing. All my friends talk about their father all the time and I have nothing to say about mine because I don't know him. I have never even met him.
I found out later in life that he use to hit my mom and call her names. That is why she left him when I was a baby because she loved me more than she loved him and wanted a better life for me. I realized then that she is my mother and father. She has loved me unconditionally and that's all any child need is for someone to love them. If my father really loved and cared for me he would of been in my life regardless of what happened in the past. It would be nice to have a father figure in my life but I am intent just having a mother in my life. She makes me happy and I love her very much.

My mother is my father!

Man up

It takes two to have a baby, but for some reason not all fathers help raise their child. They can produce a child but when it’s time to man up they run. Why is that? Most of the time they don’t even pay child support. Yeah, if they don’t pay child support then they go to jail. Jail doesn’t pay off. The county/government should work with businesses like McDonald's or even picking up trash on the side of the road. This way, the deadbeats can feel and learn how to provide for their child the right way. A while ago, the La Cross Tribune had 3 full pages in small print of deadbeat dads and that wasn’t all of them. It is ridiculous to see that many names of people who haven’t taken care of their child. When is this going to stop?
